Thank you, authors!
Our general submissions period is now closed.
First reads are underway. And we have a hearty stack of fiction — from pint-sized flash to king-sized novellas — to cozy up with this winter.
So, now what?
We are all writers at Pulp Literature, and sensitive to the nature of submitting work. Because we receive hundreds of stories, and typically read in order of submission date, it might be many months until you receive a reply.
But in the meantime, why not:
- pick up our current issue (or a back issue grab bag) to see what we are looking for
- check out the Pulp Lit Pulpit podcast for great stories, inspiration from our featured authors, and writing tips from our editors
- craft a flash for The Bumblebee Flash Fiction Contest, opening 1 January
- join our Quit the Day Job Club
- sign up for our newsletter and receive updates on contests, launches, and the next submissions cycle
- follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
- or, party it up with us, digital style, at our Issue 28 launch
CanCon Carries On
Although the general submission cycle is now closed, we are still on the search for Canadian voices.
If you are currently living in Canada (whether a citizen or not) or a Canadian living abroad, we invite you to continue to send us your short fiction until November 30th.
Here’s a little tip, straight from the editors: our literary cups runneth over with the dark and the heavy, and we are thirsting for a different brew.
So send us stories that uplift and inspire. That shine in the shadows. That show us, as Leonard Cohen reminds us, that although there is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.
