Throwback Thursday: Greetings by Akem

We welcome you into the pages of Pulp Literature Issue 23, Summer 2019 with Greetings by cover artist Akem. Bright and bold, this stunning piece begins our journey into summer, the season of hope and exploration. And what better way than guided by a turtle reminding us to slow down and soak up all the wonders life has to offer.

How lovely to take a look back at this spectacular cover — from the perspective of 2020 — and be reminded that, like the turtle protected by its shell, there’s no place like home. While we may not be roaming to distant lands this year, a good book can always be counted on to take us far, far away.

Greetings is the third of Akem’s gorgeous covers for Pulp Literature, joining Seabus (Issue 16) and Windseeker (Issue 18). Akem’s work can also be found within our pages: Her captivating short story ‘Shotguns and Jinn’ appears in Issue 25.
