Two More Days!
Sometimes the early bird gets the worm. But, as is also the case, sometimes it’s better late than never to do the thing you’ve been meaning to do. And here at Pulp Literature, we like to make sure ever bird has its day. So we decided to extend the deadline for our Magpie Award for Poetry to midnight on Monday, April 17th. Now’s your last chance (really, truly last chance!) to soar.
First Prize is $500 and publication in Issue 40, Autumn 2023. And two runners-up will receive $50 each and publication.
The Magpie Award is for previously unpublished poems of up to 100 lines in length. Poetry that relies heavily on visual structure is eligible for prize money, but may be excluded from publication if the formatting is difficult to reproduce in print or eBook.
The entry fee is $25 for your first poem, $10 each subsequent poem. All entry fees include a 1-year digital subscription to Pulp Literature.
Stay tuned to the blog or sign up for our newsletter for the announcement of the winner and runners-up in mid-May.
Meanwhile, to read the poems of winners past, pick up your copy of Issue 36, Autumn 2022 or Issue 32, Autumn 2021.
