‘Chimaera’ by Weiwei Xu

Belonging

In Weiwei Xu‘s graphic short ‘Chimæra’, a child experiences the pull of possible selves that exists when living in an ‘in-between’ cultural space.

As Weiwei tells us, ‘Chimæra’ is a story about gaining a new perspective on a culture you’ve been told you represent, but which you have never really understood — and then finding a way to resolve your identity as part of that culture.
